Choosing Wedding Anniversary Gifts

I have been married for almost 40 years and every year choosing appropriate anniversary gifts is high on my anxiety list. Of course we know that the wedding anniversary is an occasion where the thought counts more than the gift, yes?

As men and women tend to have quite different ideas about what an appropriate gift should be it does not make it easy for a husband or wife to choose wedding anniversary gifts. Also, it is a common perception that remembering at all, let alone choosing a present is somehow the responsibility of us guys!

These days, time and financial constraints will usually prevent us from planning an extravagant wedding anniversary celebration, and generally, any amount of money spent isn't going to make hubby or wife feel loved and cherished. So that's out.

As a general rule, wedding anniversaries are enjoyed quietly between couples in a private setting, although there are exceptions. Wedding anniversaries marking major milestones, like the 25th or 50th, are commonly celebrated with close friends, family and sometimes include a special ceremony, such as the renewal of wedding vows.

Let's take a look at some gift ideas. Wedding anniversary gifts One of the best approaches is a themed gift based on how many years married. You can go a step further and spice up your gifts by the way that you present them.

For example personalised gifts are very popular. What about a bouquet of flowers or a box of chocolates with a love letter, note or a short poem. Personalised gifts are very appreciated, especially when they include words of love.

If you are adventurous, you could enjoy together an adrenal pumping experience gift.

There are many approaches to the art of gift selection and of course the most important of all is to know what your partner likes and would appreciate. Whatever the anniversary or however many years you have been married, the main theme of love and romance is the all important ingredient.

There are a lot of things that you can do to celebrate an anniversary. You just have to be innovative and imaginative to come up with dazzling ideas. The monetary amount of wedding anniversary gifts is not the most important factor in choosing the present what matters is the value of the occasion to the giver and the genuine joy over the strengthening relationship of the married couple.

  1. The longer you are married the harder it is to find unique anniversary gifts that you have not purchased for your spouse yet! I love personalized gifts but I am very excited to say that I think my spouse and I are going to take a ski trip this winter for our 10 year anniversary. Hopefully we can find a place that is romantic, has great scenery, while at the same time staying within our budget.
