Have Your Cake & Eat It Too!

One of my favorite parts of any wedding is getting to taste the delicious cake! I'm always sad when my piece is gone. :) Of course we got excited when we came across these edible favors from The Crumb Runner Cookie Co. Edible Favors are always our favorite! If you can believe it, these are actual stacks of cookies, iced and decorated to look just as elegant and fun as the wedding cake!

There are so many different flavors and styles to choose from, which makes it fun!

We also adore the look of these boxed iced sugar cookies from Martha Stewart Weddings. so cute!... so cute you might not want to eat it...(ohhh who are we kidding!)

I scream for ice cream...

I just saw this fabulous idea over at the bridal bar. Any of you who know me well, know I have a major weakness for ice cream. I wouldn't so much call it a weakness as much as I would call it therapy. Forget the spa....my sanctuary is in the freezer. I heard someone once say "Bad days only need ice cream" . I tend to live by this and strongly believe good days need ice cream too.

So...ecreamery has in all their genius created a way to customize your weddings with not only an ice cream bar...but pints of ice cream chosen by you. You let them know the grade of ice cream and mix ins and they will develop a flavor with a customized label for you and your guests. They then fed ex it to you. It's a little pricey but amazing none the less. And the packaging....isn't it darling? It makes the contents look that much more delicious!

FAVORite Finds

Here are some of my new favorite finds by Estilo Weddings! I love the beautiful boxes filled with butterfly habitats and seed mats to create the perfect little garden. The tiny edible tins hold seeds that bloom into edible flowers. How perfect of a favor for a garden reception?

...and the little wood pencils. I have been searching all over for something like this that is so fun to use on the sign in table in lieu of typical pens. I love the texture and visual interest they provide!

do me a favor?

Wedding favors are one of those extra little touches that make a big impact at your table...a little extra something that says "hey, I care about you. thanks for being here with me today"

I always advise my brides to choose something that will either be used or eaten....otherwise any time or effort you took in putting them together will be left on the table at the end of the night, right next to where you placed the favor to begin with.

A special treat is in fact just that " a special treat" and something your guests will enjoy.

One of my favorite vendors for favors is Liz Chou of The Cookie Chew. She fills boxes with scrumptious treasure cookies. What are treasure cookies? They are a cookie with a surprise piece of candy baked into the center. Yum! Peanut butter cup, toffee, peppermint..they are all tasty and baked from scratch. Not only are they delicious but they are the cutest little gourmet cookies that have been hand designed to correspond to their flavor. I highly recommend you try one today, maybe two or three. I just heard Liz will be opening her very own bakery! Congratulations Liz! It has been so fun to watch you grow!

Whether or not your favor can be eaten..there is something to be said about packaging! In the past I have teamed up with the cookie chew to insure that the packaging added a corresponding element to the table decor for my brides. Favors can bring added interest and color to your table. Yes, believe it or not, tying all those ribbons and sealing with monograms can be worth it. Especially, when your wedding planner is doing it! It is a great avenue for carrying your theme while expressing your personality and love for food, music or whatever it may be. Any other favorite or unique ideas for favors? We would love you to share them!
