Jill + Glenn:Frame and Fortune

We were so excited when Jenn from Green Wedding Shoes asked to feature Jill and Glenn's wedding a couple weeks ago. Although it had been featured in Instyle Weddings in their last issue...there were just SO many other details I was hoping we could share with all of you that there just wasn't room for in the magazine. If Glenn's face looks familiar to you, then you must have been watching It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia. Glenn stars in the hit show and Jill, also an actress, has guest starred in an episode. We fell in love with Jill & Glenn while planning their wedding, where we got to work closely with them for over a year perfecting every last detail!

It's always so fun to hear from the bride, so I thought I would include some of Jill's comments as found on Green Wedding Shoes.

"I knew what I wanted the feel our of day to be: romantic, vintage, with a touch of glam. The colors we chose were plum, pomegranate, lavender and fuschia with hints of soft greens. We brought in a lot of mercury glass to bring in the vintage feel and some glam with the sparkle in the tall crystal candle holders. My bridesmaids dresses were gun metal grey to balance out the bright colors of the flowers"

Jill wrote "Through working with Heather we came up with the Lucky in Love Theme. Glenn and I are always telling each other how lucky we feel to have found each other...so that is how it came about. It was carried throughout the wedding from the cupcakes, to the backdrop of the photo booth custom created by Amorology, to the table names which were all things pertaining to good fortune and/or luck...my favorite was "Rain". The description said, "In the Hindu tradition it is believed that rain on the wedding day is good luck because a wet knot is harder to untie than a dry one".

The head table was “3 Keys” which worn together as a pendant or hung over a doorway symbolizes good fortune, good health and good luck in love. The guests had so much fun reading them and learning more about the different symbols while searching for their tables.

We were so excited when we came across the paper version of the baroque frames by Junky Heirloom and knew that we just had to use them for the escort cards! We lined the table with these fun and playful custom-colored frames and even incorporated some of the couple’s engagement pictures in them as well! Holding the image of one of the table names guests were invited to find their table with the corresponding image.

The venue was full of absolutely amazing beauty everywhere you looked. The property even was home to several wild animals, including zebras and tigers!

David from Plush Lounge built custom lounge furniture that added a great element to the feel of the reception. He even painted the tables to match the shade of purple we used.

The tables were draped with a Victorian lilac linen and complimented with a deep aubergine napkin that sat upon vintage style scalloped white dishes. We chose to use a variety of mercury glass for all of the vases; the silver was such a beautiful accent color and created a gorgeous backdrop for the stunning creations by Nisie of the
Enchanted Florist.
Combinations of dusty miller, actual lavender, hydrangea, and garden roses, were absolutely rich and luxurious and brought so much texture to the centerpieces.

In lieu of favors, Jill and Glenn decided to donate to one of their favorite charities. Each guest received a beautiful letterpress note, tucked in to the napkin and kissed with a lovely lisianthus flower to add a soft touch.

In keeping with the vintage glam style that Jill was looking for we chose to adorn the tables with lots of candlelight and votives that sparkled. Between those and the mercury glass, everything just seemed to glow.

We had a unique, custom gobo image created to shine across Jill and Glenn’s dance floor of their initials. It added such a romantic, soft light for the couple’s first dance.

Varying styles and sizes of baroque frames gave cohesion and theme to the event as well and framed the table names that we worked with Pretty Handsome Paper to customize. Each table was named after something lucky. Between a dandelion blowing in the wind, ladybugs, horseshoes, a penny, rain and more, these letter-pressed table names displayed a sweet and simple image as well as a little fun fact about the lucky object itself.

The couple decided to go with cupcakes! We turned to Flour and Flower Design to create these scrumptions treats in the wedding colors. We also had "Lucky in Love" tags letterpressed and we hand glued and stuck them into all of these cupcakes!

24 Carrots catered the evening and the all food was SO divine! The service was fantastic too, we had a great time working with Heather.

One of Jill's nicknames is "Jillybean." We fell in love with it and wanted to bring it into their wedding, so we created a Jillybean Bar full of jellybeans!! We chose all sorts of delicious jellybeans and even added other sweet treats. We filled apothecary jars full of all the goodies and tied the jars with ribbons all within their wedding colors of course, and worked with Brightly Designed to create the candy signs as well as the labels that went on the take-home goodie bags :)

How can we not mention what a stylish couple Jill & Glenn are?! Jill's drop dead gorgeous gown was from Monique Lhuillier and had a belt by the designer sewn on to complete the look. Glenn also looked dashing in a metallic pinstripe suit he picked out himself. Love love love the back view of Jill's dress!

Nathalie Sherman of Sophia & Chloe custom made this to die for bracelet just for Jill. It was so stunning on Jill, but honestly everything Nathalie designs is so gorgeous!

We also had so much fun creating a custom Amorology photo booth for Jill and Glenn that was not only cohesive with the rest of their wedding, but also something fun and interactive that all of their guests could enjoy. We built this custom-painted, 16′ long photo booth and even created the “wheel of fortune.” We had so much fun coming up with the fortunes! Guests got to give the wheel a spin and find out what their fortunes were, like “A Kiss is on it’s Way,” “You Have a Secret Admirer,” and even “Run!!”

The wall was completely interactive and held frames of pictures of Jill and Glenn, lucky phrases, an umbrella, and several hats that were hung on door knobs! From the chest filled with miscellaneous props, guests had so much fun playing throughout the night! It was so entertaining to witness some serious creative minds at work! My favorite part was how the custom photo booth doubled as an incredible backdrop for dining and immediately offered an ambiance to the whole event.

Team Amorology also got in on the fun and snapped some pics in front of the photo booth! Although, The Always Sunny in Philadelphia cast might have out done us a little : )

This was such an exciting and amazing event to be a part of! The day was filled with so many emotions from tears to laughter, and we will take away so many fond memories. We wish the best for both of you, Jill & Glenn! You two are truly lucky to have found each other! xo

Many thanks to Natalie Norton Photography and her team, who captured all the beautiful images. Dan from DV Artistry, now Imagique, was also there to make us cry with his touching video of the day's events! Thanks so much, you guys did a superb job!
