Desert Rose

It's that time again..and we're gearing up for another photo shoot for Exquisite Weddings Magazine.  Lots of fun ideas in the works but thought we would take some time to look back at our last shoot with them and some of the inspiration behind the concept of what we titled ...Desert Rose.

We knew we wanted to create a bohemian desert feel with a Moroccan influence and a splash of desert glam.  Pairing with Twigg Botanicals, we infused bright pops of color through the florals, trickling bougainvillea and just a touch of cacti for another nod to the desert.  I loved how the pinks, corals and bursts of red seemed to play with the aqua and greens. An eclectic mix of vintage glassware and china that we gathered, mix and match flatware, peacock feathers, camel tassels and jeweled place cards all lent themselves to the bohemian vibe and danced on the sequin linen (our own little oasis) at the center of the table.  The specialty drink we titled "Sweet Sahara" also added a refreshing flavor to the shoot.

Mini flowering cactus that we planted in vintage teacups served as favors with little tags that read "pricked by love" created by the ever talented Courtney from Brightly Designed.  We also wanted to give the gorgeous cake that was dreamed up by Erica O'Brien a prominent place...and it looked lovely upon the vintage furniture piece provided by Archive Vintage Rentals.  So many fun pieces from them that we had fun playing with in styling the shoot!  We just loved how Erica took the inspiration we gave her too and created a cake beyond our wildest dreams.  Many thanks to our amazing team of vendors and Exquisite Weddings Magazine for inviting us to get in on the fun and showcase a little more of what we love to do!  Looking forward to the next one!

Baby Knox Is One

The joy that comes from creating life with your one and only love is a joy that can never really be explained. Our very own Heather and Troy have been blessed with three amazing children, and a fourth on the way! Their youngest, Knox, is not so tiny anymore. Knox recently turned one and to celebrate we thought we would take a look back at how fast these little ones grow. Rachel of Rachel Clare Photo beautifully captured the peace, love, and tranquility around newborn Knox.  We can't believe that in just a short month he'll be a big brother!

Alexis & Michael: a bicycle built for two

Remember this couple?

We had the pleasure of creating an intimate wedding for Alexis and Michael. Our ever so sweet couple wanted their special day to be filled with personal touches to create lasting meaningful moments.

Alexis was fortunate enough to have many heirloom items to incorporate in this truly unique wedding..one of which was a bicycle built for two. With this priceless gem and a love for daisies, we just couldn't resist playing upon the lyrics of "Daisy, Daisy" as we incorporated the design elements and tied all the little details together.

Gathered vintage teacups overflowing with blueberries and daisies adorned the escort card display we had so much fun designing .

In lieu of the traditional phrase, "he loves me, he loves me not", we labeled each of the charming daisy favor cookies with "he loves me, he loves me a lot", leaving no room for error of course.

Specialty Drinks were appropriately named "oopsy daisy" and "upsy daisy" and tickled the guests fancy throughout the evening as they were tray passed and as they visited the watering can (or the bar that we had a sign created for and painted by the family).

From the timeless photographs Jill Thomas captured to the romantic floral arrangements Twigg Botanicals created and the delicate paper elements by Brightly Designed, this vintage wedding could not have been more meaningful and romantic.Thank you Alexis and Michael for having us be a part of your wedding! Such a joy to see it all come together!

Hear what our bride had to say to Style Me Pretty, it will melt your heart.
